I came upon info on this route while going over dragon info. It's 12 miles of nothing but curves. It seems that the Ohio bike clubs love to run it. It might be worth a day trip this summer if anyone is interested. Chris
Riverrun has used that route at least a dozen times. It is a fine drive on an unforgiving road. I know of 3 people who have lost their cars there. Have fun be safe.
Nick, that was one of the roads we were on during last years pre-Dragon shake down drive. The other one was 255.
It's a great road to drive either way. I know it well as my parents live 8 miles from it as Chuck said it's not a forgiving road. Best description I could give is its like the dragon plus 10-20 mph. Great mixture of tight turns and faster sections.
Nope my mom is coming out later this week. I did get a back road drive in a couple weeks ago but didn't make it to 536.
I'd be up for a fall drive down that way. Waiting until fall will assure Nathan can do it with us. I need to do some back road exploring down there.
There are also around 5 houses with kids on the road. It is nice as an out and back so I usually run it a few times with the first being a recon to see if people are playing in their yards. It also helps that I have done it enough that I know the places you need to be careful. There is also a farm with chickens that roam freely, nothing like coming around a corner and seeing chickens in the road As with all public roads the important thing is to be safe and reasonable when driving. If you want to set a fastest lap time find a race track
Yep the track is where to hang it out. :yesnod: Riverrun uses off road chickens. And on road dogs.....
At the Dragon we have the wild turkey named Dave on Hellbender just before Deals Gap to contend with.
