7.5k is still safe, 5k is simply cheap insurance. As Dave.0 said... Blackstone won't pay out if you grenade your engine.

I don't mind changing it early. Especially now that I only will be changing it about once a year.

The fiancée's car gets about 5 oil changes a year, though - so it evens out.

Oh no not the oil question. :D I use Mobil 1. That being said they are all purity close. Unless you go with Amzoil or Royel Purple

Yeah for "brand new motor" I would do what the Metalman said.
    500 then 1,000 for break in I may even add a 2500 then a 5 k oil change.

After you get past a few K you can move to the 3-5 K schedule as oil is very cheap insurance against motor failures.

Wow! I don't read my post as disparaging your methods. Wondering what caused you to respond as you did.

Ford tried permanently sealed suspension parts awhile back and found out it was a big mistake. I had my new 2015 MCS serviced Friday at it's 750 mile first dealer oil change, only to discover there were no zerk fittings on the suspension parts. You would think the automotive world would learn from it's past mistakes! Motor on!

Dealers don't even have grease guns for zerk fittings anymore...
Most suspension parts are urethane... So no grease now...
Only zerks I have seen on MINI's are on the aftermarket swaybars....and this is going back to 2002....

Come to think of it...even my late 80's HONDA'S DIDN'T have zerks.....don't think I have ever owned a car, us if import with then, just HD trucks and planes with zerks....

I used to have a 1967 London Taxi. It had about fifty grease fittings under it!

    Prolly mounts still need lube.
