I'm sorry, I want a LOT more protection than that for the lifeblood of my engine. One good off at the track and I'm leaving a trail of oil and pissing off a lot of other drivers.

The spring semester should be long done by now, get back home and snap a few pics. -
Tha madness plate is a good one though with the taps included. So if you add the t-stat you will have options on where to place the t-stat or where to place the sending units for press and temp. -
Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies - Home Page (Search for thermostatic oil controls) has three oil thermostats listed w/some info. I have not purchased anything from them, FYI only. -
Lookie at all that grass to slow you...

In Oregon we go on quarters so we are not finished until the 12th. But my last final is Wednesday the 10th. So it's not long done. Lame.rrr:

I have an oil cooler w/in line oil pressure adapter from RMW(not installed yet). Detroit Tuned sells them.
I am getting my oil temp from my sump.(I know the pros & cons)
The gauge is by Prosport and match the oem gauges
Usually we have consequences (steel) here.Attached Files:

Still like the radiator mount better, Lynn's is just to exposed.
How much did George at Madness charge for just the adapter? -

So the double pass Moss/Cobalt cooler should work OK?
-
Yes Ok, but not great. I believe this type of heat exchanger is low efficiency compared to say something like Setrab, or rather a cooler that kind of looks like the intercooler.
Definitely, much better than what I have now..........nothing. -

I don't have pictures and it's been repaired, but I did have an off where I ripped out a few of the plastic brake and fuel line guides from the bottom of the car.
Between that and the amount of tire gators left by big trucks around these roads I'd be very leery of hanging anything that could could get hit and damage an oil line.
You say covering a portion of the radiator negates the gains from the oil cooler, but bypassing the internal cooler has to help some in reducing the load on the water cooling system.
I'm not debating the efficacy of the cooler, it's the location under the car that worries me. I go places...like to to the top of Pikes Peak and into grassy fields for photo shoots. The underside of my car has been a little beat up...I'll take my chances on reducing the radiator efficiency a smidgen to gain peace of mind that one of my nice AN fittings is not going to ripped out by a big rock when I'm in the middle West Texas. -

Wait... Is your car really our of the Driveway, Lynn? I don't believe it. :yikes:
Kidding. But I think you have a great placement with the oil cooler although you're lines are very long and to my mind are prone to more problems. Also, it takes longer for the oil to cool. How do you see your temperatures differ from other oil coolers and what is the route time of oil moving from your motor to the cooler and back? -
Perhaps in front of the A/C condenser right in the center of the bumper behind the lower grille? Isn't there room with the curvature of the front end? I also like the converted CVT cooler ideas, even though it's not ideal.
