Anyone have a step by step on how to remove this oil filter housing?
Looks like if you get the exhaust manifold out of the way it would be pretty straight forward. My biggest question is do you remove the front end of the car and go that way or work from underneath removing the ac compressor etc.

I think you are not getting an answer because that is not something many folks have done or even had done. I'd suggest buying a Bentley manual for your car. They really are detailed & will help a lot.

If you do end up doing this, I'd be interested it how you did it. Ive got the gaskets sitting in my glovebox and just need to put them in.

If motoring magic would have responded to my pm or this post we would both know.
I ordered a service manual and yes im going to do this, ill post pictures and a how to.
It seems like you need the entire housing as im told they warp slightly and its just too many hours of work to take the risk. The entire housing and gaskets are $167.00 on parts.com

So sorry about not responding Kentuckynet-however I see no evidence of ever receiving your pm. I got andys today and below is the response I sent him

"Andrew, we find the easiest way is to remove the entire nose after draining coolant and discharging the a/c. As a repair shop, this give us the opportunity to inspect anything else that may be wearing/failing such as hoses/radiator/condenser, etc. While this isn't ideal for a diy project, as a professional repair shop with lifts and a lot of experience, that is what works best for us. "

In addition, I would add we NEVER take the exhaust manifold/turbo off.

I am reviving this thread, did you replace this because oil and coolant were mixing and were curious if the exchanger had cracked? I suppose that is a possibility. I am looking into swapping out mine atm.
