    Hi...
Bought a 2005 mini cooper the other day from a private seller...
everything seemed fine when i test drived it etc...
then i go out to drive it today, and notice a massive oil puddle underneath my car :(

So then I took it to my local garage and they checked for a split O Ring or cracked housing but couldn't find any damage atall...
It's basically leaked most of it's oil out and now i'm stuck on what to do...
Anyone have any ideas/suggestions on what the problem could be and how much it's going to cost?

It had a service in October and they changed the oil filter so it could be over tightened?
    someone help me please!!

i've only had the mini for like 2 days....

    Thank you  :nonod:

Are you sure it was engine oil? Did you pull the dipstick?

This car has a liquid filled motor mount on the right side, and sometimes they rupture, leaving a big ol puddle of what looks like engine oil on the ground.

    ^THIS

The most likely spontaneous fluid event, not immediately following an oil filter change.

My car had a leak the other day. I was told it was a bad o ring on the filter.

Lube those O-rings when you install them & change them with every filter change. I have seen a few so old that they had turned hard like plastic.
