I don't think you hurt your Mini. It will take some time to burn off the oil in the exhaust system.
I would get a note from the mechanic stating that spirited driving is rehab for the Mini. If you get pulled over give the note to the police officer. He'll understand and let you go.:D

If it is cold & damp yep you will see the smoke you describe. Not a big deal at all. Just condensation.

For my 2 cents, I would not run sea foam. It is a placebo at best. Also any lead in the fuel high octane of not will kill your cat converter. A costly fix that will not be covered under warranty. Just drive your car it is fine from what I can tell.

Post a video if the exhaust.....

    End of old fart advice.....

Have you taken that long drive yet? This will help blow out all that oil that is still sitting in the intake and exhaust.....

+1 on getting the green light for spirited driving ! Put your foot in it and enjoy your MINI.

    These are good signs you have noted;
    "-not loosing coolant
    -oil is still clean
    -not loosing oil
    -Doesn't smoke on start up
    -Doesn't smoke when driving
    -Doesnt smoke on idlel"

You will also get condensation with a lot of carbon blowing out the exhaust tips from a cold start... If your PCV system was overtaxed with your oil issue, you could have remnents flowing through your intake system.... The IC could take a little while to clear out all the oil...

Your best bet now that you drained the overfill is to take a nice long drive...... IMO

I always put 5 Quarts of oil in my car every oil change. The little extra always burns off.

I wouldn't worry. It will take for ever for the oil to to burn out. That is just the residue that has not burned out yet. I would run some Sea Foam through it. If you know where to get race fuel, 100 or 110 obtain, you could run half a tank mixed with half of a tank of 93. A friend gave me 10gal of race gas and I ran it Half race half pump. My exhaust ended up clean, I mean white clean. Also my S loved it.
Just keep a eye on your oil. If your not using oil your ok.

Act like it's for sale and let someone take a test drive. I'm sure they will blow out the oil!

If they don't blow it out. You could blame the smoke on them and demand a new exhaust.

I agree with your respected mechanic. Keep an eye on the oil level, but my thoughts are you will be fine & the smoke will dissipate.

    Welcome to M/A

Yup I agree with Crashton, give it a little while and everything will burn off in time.

Drain a bit is how'd I'd address the issue.
I'd be concerned whether or not any parts that should not contact oil are... Not that I've seen this before :)

How many quarts does the R56 take? I have not seen anything in the manual for this yet.
