I have those same marks on my garage floor and door but my floor is not that nice.
I only get that when I wash the tailpipes and get water up in the exhaust. lol
Go out and run it hard to burn everything out and you will be fine. -

Normal, don't fret.

I believe we are all in agreement that a long road trip is in your future, right after getting the walnut blasting done by my Mini dealer, there were backfires, rough running for 60 miles on and off. All those carbon particles were soon out of my exhaust, my combustion chambers were also treated.

Hey guys, I'm still worried, the smoke is still there
Let me explain...
If the car is being driven there is no smoke.
If it idles for a bit, and you give it a blip on the throttle, a big puff of smoke follows.
Revs immediately after are clean.
Up until you leave it to idle again, and the cycle repeats itself.
Should I put up a video?
Thanks guys -

Race Fuel or Sunoco 93 will do the trick after you run it for a few weeks.
-
Yes, I did take that drive, but it was short, 120km round trip.
Maybe I should take a longer drive?
Will a octane booster work like NF instead of race fuel? It's like hens teeth over here. -
120km averaging 140km/h
-
Hens teeth
I like that. Its the same here, its pricy. I don't know if octane boost will work the same. Maybe one of the other guys on here will know. Even with out the race fuel the oil will eventually burn out.

Here's a funny story. At our body shop, we have a Geico drive in claims adjuster. All the insurance guys around know I'm a MINI fanatic. So the Geico adjuster says he has a 05 MCS to look at across town. It had started smoking then knocking. Then cut off.
He gets there and the shop has drained out 14 quarts of oil! Nice, oily looking oil. Not watered down like a blown head gasket/chocolate milk would give you. Actually 14 quarts of OIL. Seems the kid that owned the car would see the oil light come on and he'd add a quart of oil. He wouldn't check it, he'd just add oil. He told the adjuster the light would go out, so he thought it was okay. Of course now it's in need of an engine. Probably was before if the oil light came on so often. Just goes to show ya, not all MINI owners are enthusiasts. -

That little Gecko isn't very smart. The oil light comes on intermittently & he buys the car? Did he pull the dip stick? I'm sorry for his troubles, but oh man.
Another oil story. Subaru was having problems in the early 2000's with Iffy Lube places draining the front diff & then adding another 4.5 quarts of oil to the undrained sump. Sometimes the diff would die before the engine, sometimes both would die. Subaru fixed this by using a special plug for the diff drain that no one would have. -
Update....
So after a 1000km and 2 long trips 500km total.
I still have smoke.
Went to see a mini specialist and he told me to check the intake for oil, as he did a few small checks.
And once cleaned if it's still smokes to come back in the beginning of January for further investigation.
I decided to take off the intake manifold, the throttle body, charge pipes, and the intercooler.
Intercooler was filled with oil
Charge pipe to throttle side was lined with wet oil
Intake moist oil
Washed it all with petrol, and cleaned the ports with some carbon cleaning spray from würth, seeing as though I had the intake off.
Put it all together once cleaned, car started and still seems to be smoke... I know you must be thinking there is some oil somewhere...
But then took the car for a drive, came back, charge pipes were dry,
Noticed the back bolt on my downpipe was loose and blowing, so I decided to take it off and peak inside, it was clean as well.
My buddy then decided to start the car while the downpipe was off, and as the car starts, the dump valve opens and smoke pours out immediately.
My buddy says my turbo seals are gone, and I might need a new turbo
Car is on 63000km.
Input appreciated. -

And you never smoked before the oil overfill occured?
-
No sir it did not
-
Where was your car serviced and have you spoken to them about all this? Their legally liable, an upgraded turbo might not cost you more than $2k.
-
So guys, I'm totally confused... I redid my turbo, and my car is still the same, although it boosts better lol
My turbo seals were gone.
It still smokes after idle and pull away.
Could it be the PCV? Dealers, independent garages and technicians say it can't be valve stem seals,as they never had r56 valve stem issues ever!?
I'm rather disliking my car right now, even though it's my own fault.
What should my next step be?
Thanks in advanced guys, I'm going crazy -

When you replaced the turbo, did you also replace the return line with new?
The thought being.... If the return line is blocked.... The oil going to the turbo bearings might be forced into the charge passage....
Just a thought.... Long distance internet diagnosis being somewhat limited....
#9 Return Pipe...
-
Hi, thanks for the response...
That pipe was fine and clean, no blockage.
I did buy a new #6 as the mini tech told me that line usually sludges up because of the heat.
