    @Dave.0 43K

    @Crashton I have and it's at the normal level. I'm looking into getting some new tires for my car right now, thinking of getting some Michelin Pilot Super Sports.

    @Dave.O lol I was hoping to squeeze a few more miles.

    So I got the oil notification just now it says “engine oil pressure is low, consult a MINI dealer”. Asked the Indiana Motor Club for recommendations on shops that do carbon blasting. One thing I heard is that an oil catch can won’t stop the carbon build up but will slow it down along with doing an oil change every 3k miles. So I’m going to be changing my oil change intervals from 6k to 3k.

    No one has shown proof that oil catch cans do any good. DI engines are great for efficiency, but de-carboning them is something the car makers never mention.

    It's really troubling about your low oil pressure warning. I hope it's a bed sensor or some such.

    Not to be a smart arse, but have you checked your oil? Lately?

    You may not have sensed a lack of traction, but it is possible the traction nanny did.

    @MCS02 2013 MCS with 43k miles. Strange thing is this turn is an off ramp with no bumps because they just repaved the road last year due to all the pot holes. It’s a long sweeper and then goes straight.

    Turbos are hard on oil! I change my oil every 3k. I Have noticed on my wife's R57 and my R58 the oil does get more dirty. I don't know if the carbon issue would cause the oil light but if you followed MINI's long oil change intervals then it may be causing problems. Perhaps the screen is got some crud on it causing bad suction at low RPM. Remember they had to replace a few engines before the shortened the interval.

    Here is a great read on the N14 carbon problem and what to do about it.

    N14 Its an awesome motor! She just a little dirty

    Everyone should have an N14, it teaches patients.:D

    @Dave.O damn I was hoping it wouldn’t be that time already [emoji22] I was hoping it would go until 100k miles.

    Is your mini an S? if so @Dave.0 is correct about the carbon. I know on my R53 if I am in a corner and hit a bump some times I get a traction control light or coming out of a drive way. But you could also have a ABS sensor going bad.

    100K. Hahahaha. Not a chance you have a DI (direct injection) motor with no fuel cleaning the back of the valves.

    Are you saying a symptom of the car needing carbon blasting is the oil pressure light?

    @Crashton it is a little unnerving for me to have it pop up randomly like this. I’m hoping it’s just a bad sensor.
