hi kellen remember me? i bought 2 dipsticks that were both double powdercoated ... you were great in getting them swapped out i was going to buy the adapters from you, i am just deciding if i want to drop the oil pan or not meanwhile i am working on the instrument mount scott
Hi Scott, Thanks. You aren't dropping the oil pan on my account are you? Our adapter just replaces the drain plug. Just mentioning it in case there was a misunderstanding.
no, but i do not want to use the drain plug adapter ... too exposed i will probably use the oil pressure adapter for both the pressure and temp senders i know that is not the ideal location for the temp sender, but imho neither is the bottom of the oil pan i just ordered an exhaust system and when i jack the car to install that i will see how involved it is to drop the oil pan mean time, i have to construct my instrument mount to hold all 5 of the 45mm gauges scott
If you have a skid plate, putting a sender in the oil drain plug won't be an issue, as the skidplate covers the exposure well (R50/53). ON the R56, the plug's on the very bottom of the pan - ugh.
I have the OEM drain plug adapter and it is well up in there. No worries about hitting anything with me. And it is giving you the best location for monitoring the temps. Oops....just read the post above about the R56. Nevermind
