Soooo... I did an oil change this morning.... I'm under the MINI.... And I notice this big red sticker on the manual transmission case..... According to the MINI Operating Fluids Information sheet... Without limited slip differential I should use 83 22 0 421 925 MTF LT-4 Extended Life Fluid This is also confirmed by the Bentley manual.... For those with the Limited Slip Differential I should use 83 22 0 403 247 MTF94 Extended Life Fluid My window sticker says I have the E-diff... Is it possible the MINI worker slipped a manual trans with the LSD already installed during my build? How should I test this to verify one over the other?
If you have the real LSD thank your lucky stars. Leave me your car & in week or two I'll have the answer for you.
HaHaHaHa.... Yeah.... I either got a great deal from a careless assembly worker slipping me a free LSD....:fingerscrossed: OR I got a great deal from a careless assembly worker slipping me a free red sticker....
Soooo.... Jack both wheels off the ground.... Spin the wheels by hand... If they turn in the opposite direction.... Not Limited Slip If they both turn in the same direction.... Well it's not just a red sticker then is it.....
Anyone notice there is no salt corrosion on my 2009 transmission case.... This baby sleeps in a nice comfy garage during the nasty OHIO "Salty" time....:arf:
