Mini’s Chinese outpost will celebrate the 2012 Olympic Games in London by launching a special-edition Mini Cooper hatchback. Because Mini is the partner of the Chinese Olympic delegation in the U.K., the company will launch the special cars in China. Yes, the reasoning is a bit of a stretch. The China Olympic Special Edition cars are based on a Mini Cooper with the 120-hp, 1.6-liter inline-four engine. Changes to the cars comprise golden stripes (which are shaped to look like a running track on the roof); a special numbered “Mini China Olympic Special Edition†badge on the grille; and mirror caps adorned with a grayscale image of the Union Jack flag. The Olympic Special Edition cars will reportedly go on sale in China in July. Mini has yet to announce pricing for the models. I don't like the Black Jack mirror caps on that car. They look like an after thought. Coming from me, that's a strange reaction. I think the roof and racing stripes on the bonnet and boot are kind of cool. I want to see how well it parallel parks!
How come we don't get that graphics combination in the States, looks pretty good. I would have color matched the mirrors. It makes a pretty classic statement with the Justa. Don
I know! The UJ is being done in all kinds of color combos. They could have gone to the trouble to color match the mirror caps for a Special Edition.
