I mostly agree with the review. Unfortunately, I don't think I will ever grow up, so will try and keep my current MINI forever. Though I was thinking my next MINI would be a Clubman during the R56 era, I am having second thoughts to that now.
My wife and I went to look at the Clubman (but not test drive it) at a dealership recently. We are getting close to time to replace the family car. The Clubman certainly is an attractive car. But at that size and price, there are other cars to consider. The show stopper for my wife is the lack of an accessory power socket in the boot. Something so minor in detail, but MINI used to pay attention to those details.
Also, my wife preferred the layout of the switches in the R53 than in the current F generation interior. Though the interior materials do look better.
