No, that is Chase. He brought his in on a trailer. Good thing too, his tubular front control arm snapped. That would be his way to Fontana.
Good luck getting Gnat all fixed up! By the way, the spark plug you want for the rebuild is NGK BKR7EIX (aka #2667). Coincidentally the same plug I ran in the Exige S, and in the turbo Miata.
Loaded on trailer at MOTD. I was told it is a good thing I happened by after it was loaded. The car would not start at all. Chad hopped in, rolled it downhill and onto the trailer in one swoop. The crowd applauded at The Chad's skill. Safely in MI at Detroit Tuned.
Multi point plugs suck on higher powered MINIs with larger CAMs, BVH and larger Injectors 550's . Remember Nate's care in not OEM anymore. Hell it does not even have am OEM ECU. The high heat and multi spark point plugs cause issues and burn up and that is absolutely caused this issue along with the below. The plugs WERE 1/2 the problem. The other half was the basic tune put on the ViPEC just so Nate could to get it back to Ohio last year. Remember his Myne's tune on the Byte-me-tronic bricked his ECU and he had to get a ViPEC to get the car running again.....? Those plugs were from the Byte-me-tronic Full Access Tune crap. I can see how Nathan my have forgot about the plugs and addition needed. I mean after Nate got home last year he took a MINI vacation at a local hospital after he bricked his heart and had to do cardio rehab. Then the drunk driver hit his car in the middle of the night. Things and tasks and life gets backed up or put on hold but our M\A was sent out on time. So I guess he forgot to have his plugs changed to single prong NGK's and connect with Jan to finish fine tuning his ViPEC so he could full out romp on his car. Looks like Nate's RMW BVH Serial #2 will need to go back to Cali to have the valve seats replaced all valves checked because I bet 1 if not both are bent in the cylinder the plug failed when the ceramic around the center electrode broke and fell into the cylinder and bounced around until it was spit out the exhaust port via the exhaust valve. Oh it will also be good to have it flow tested again since you in this deep you may as will do it right once rather than going through the process again if a step is skipped. Oh FYI it still looks clean Nathan, that guy looks like he did an Awesome Job. :rolleyes5:
I would normally change plugs in my spring maintenance. I did forget. Even have a box of the BKR7EIX plugs on the shelf. This was totally my fault. Between the bricked heart, subsequent broken ribs and all the carp floating round in my head I just plum forgot to take the plugs to Best Motors Werks.
Those are Chads race car wheels, since it was going to be on a trailer going back to Detroit Chad put Nathans wheels on his race car to drive it back to Detroit. Wheel Swap.
Tire swap so Chad's dad could drive back the Detroit Tuned MINI. The black wheels on Gnat currently are Chad's super sticky tires.
I think that Nathan only does R53s but it gave me a good laugh any way which I think was your point. Jason
Ah, but I refer you to this post (note the 2nd to last line): http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/cooper-s/21338-i-drove-f56-s-today.html#post251357
HHMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM?/! As the plot thickens. Thanks rkw. I wonder whether Dave.O saw that? Oh I can't wait until he does. Jason
I ignore all Ford Focus Ooops MINI F56 comments on principle because you all know my feelings and out of respect for Nathan I will not post them.
