A 65-year-old woman was pulled over by police officers while driving through Tennessee after the officers mistook her car's Buckeye stickers - those commonly seen on the helmets of Ohio State football players - for a marijuana symbol. "It's just amazing they would be that dumb," said Bonnie Jonas-Boggioni, which pretty much sums up this entire story. Jonas-Boggioni and her husband, Giorgio Boggioni, 66, of Plano, Texas, were driving home through Tennessee from Columbus, Ohio, where they had attended a funeral for Jonas-Boggioni's mother. The two were pulled over a few miles east of Memphis, along I-40, and were greeted by a pair of black SUVs containing officers wearing "body armor and guns," Jonas-Boggioni told Joe Blundo of The Columbus Dispatch. Sorry, but I find that hard to believe. You could have stickers, all over your car of an actual Marijuana leaf and it is not justification for a traffic stop. There is more to this story then the new paper is telling, or it is BS........ Just saying. Jim
Hahahahahaha Well we all know stupid things happen in Tennessee, they do allow tractor trailers on the Dragon after all. Idiots !
We had a club member get pulled over and ticketed in TN because his license plate frame covered the county area of the plate... so I do not doubt TN cops are a bit aggressive.
This is where our tax money is going. What flipping idiots...... do they really think drug dealers are going to advertise thier wares on the bumper??? Its just mind boggling.
I'd sure like to know what justification the police had for a stop. That sticker what ever its meaning is not a reason for a stop. Maybe the cops were Michigan fans.
There has to be MORE to the story then the NEWS is telling. If it happened as stated, the couple have a law suit against county and state that would be massive. Jim
Remember folks.....there was a tip called in from a cop in another jurisdiction to have them stopped and checked out.
i have been on that stretch of I-40 between Chattanooga and Nashville and have seen the blacked out SUV's which usually are drug task force or narco officers and they just dont call them out on just a tip...usually someone has to have some pretty concrete evidence to support their claim...something is being left out
I-24 Runs between Chattanooga & Nashville, I-40 runs west to east from Memphis thru Nashville & Knoxville to North Carolina.
