The new F56 will offer the camo paint swirls....
At an optional up charge of course....

Hey Barry....I'm glad I read this with my shorts on otherwise I would have dragged my pants legs in the self righteous crap you write in MC2.
What a moron....thanks Dave for starting my day off with high blood pressure-

Yes those were very distorted photos. MINI must be reading all the comments & worrying a bit. If they want to shut the naysayer's up they should release a flattering picture of the 3rd gen MINI. Until they do well them's some ugly pictures. Fingers crossed.... :fingerscrossed:

Cute. I love MINI's sense of humor. Of course they're playing on the "Duchess Kate Photographed Topless On Vacation" incident.
And those unflattering photos are why I'm waiting to see the finished product on the dealership lot before passing final judgment. Crossing my fingers the front end design looks better in person.-

I think they need to rush back to the drawing table, and put whoever designed the front end of that thing in the unemployment line!

Yeah well if you want MINI news and you don't mind waiting every other month for a mag that shows up late MC2 is the rag oops mag for you.
Yeah it's "Soooo Exclusive" you can't buy it any where. Why any vendor would advertise in a magazine that is not available to the public through any retail outlets is beyond me.
Any advertiser can get a better ROI on the Internet vs a limited customer mailing base mag like MC2.
We can all get the same information "Daily" on M/A and the rest of the Internet.
Not to mention now Barry is making parts like OCC's that directly take business from his advertisers.
Just brilliant.....:mad2:ut::lol:

I'm glad they addressed this, the photos were not flattering, so I was hoping it might have been lens distortion.....good for them!

Oops sorry we took pictures of your UGLY baby before it was ready for the public display.
That press release was a joke to CYA of the team designed that horrible looking car.
Of course Barry of MC2 had to put out its own "Holier than thou" spin on this topic in his e-mail today also.
Its not like his small non-newsstand available magazines is even going to be around in a few years.

2014 MINI (not) revealed by MC2 magazine
July 3, 2013
Re: MINI spy photos
In the last 3 days a US-based scoop photo agency approached MC2 with photos taken at a very private photo shoot site for the upcoming catalogs and marketing materials for the 2014 MINI. Given my 37 years in the auto magazine business I looked at the blog site, and MINI site showcasing the two-dozen photos, called the agency selling the photos , and fished for info. The forums and MINI sites have been hot with conversation about these photos, but you'll not see them in MC2 or our website.
Having been a scoop photographer some years ago, as the Publisher of MC2 I knew these photos were likely to be seen as Industrial Espionage by BMW/MINI. I know from 20+ years ago when working for a major German magazine that someone is likely to be wearing an orange jumpsuit behind bars very soon. These photos have sold for several thousands of dollars, and MC2 could have licensed the rights to them for several hundred, but we will not be doing such. MC2 will pay well for legitimate, legally-obtained photos of coming MINI models, but we will not endanger the jobs of innocent personnel trusted with advanced models as has happened in these photos.
When we launch our new GoMotoring news/info site, we'll be at the front of the line with info from dozens of global resources, just as we have with our exclusive artwork of MINI's MINIvan and cargo van models in this issue #44 that's on our home page at www.mc2magazine.com and in full details in that same isssue. Unlike some MINI news/info sites we'll not link to other sites that have paid the licensing fee so that we don't incur the costs those sites have, we'll step up to the bar and pay the price. As we're now planning a UK/EU edition of MC2, and working on a MINI TV show, get in touch with us if you have something MINI to share.
Curiously, I expresssed to a British contact Monday about this being much like the paparazzi photos of the Royal Family and others in very private settings. He said MINI would no doubt respond soon. Little did I know the following press release would cross the global desks this very morning. ... -

I saw a late model Neon yesterday and was thinking this entire episode might be a publicity stunt by MINI. They probably grafted/photoshopped on a modified Neon SRT front end.

I've seen both sets of pictures... Don't really care for either, but IF I had to choose... The MINI lost on this one, you cant just flip a light switch.
