That will buff right out too. Could the leaking pan gasket cause such mayhem? My dealer has warned me about mine.
If you have ever driven on I-95 between Del, Philly, NJ and New York you would be surprised at how many of these accidents you see every day. Everyone cuts everyone off and sometime they clip each other at speed. It's a free for all autobahn.
The driver needs identified and welcomed immediately into the T.I.T.S & A.R.S.E. society. I'll let Big Daddy, the society moderator, know.
I'll bet you a coke it's not the pan gasket that's leaking. I've changed a bunch for people over the years (at their request), and it's never the pan gasket, it's the o-ring for the crank sensor- the oil runs down the block and follows the lip of the pan and makes it LOOK like the pan's leaking. I tell everyone who will listen, change the crank sensor, wash the area down then see if it's still leaking, chances are extremely good that it isn't.
Are you saying the expert SA at my MINI dealer is wrong? How can that be Dave??? Just kidding, yes the pesky o ring is the culprit. If my o ring is leaking will I crash & burn too. Oh no!!!
Big Daddy's original society was just T.I.T.S (for those not familiar, The Inverted Turtle Society). I sent him a photo of my center column showing a label I had made, an air worthiness admonition, "Do Not Invert" and he immediately inducted me into A.R.S.E., the Anti Rollover Support Enthusiasts. So, T & A is the proper designation. Sure don't want any confusion about something as inspiring as that.
