Hit again this morning. This time hopefully for the last time. Rather spendy fix but it is fixed, so please buy a calender or 3 and/or sign up for M/A membership.
That issue allows the hacker to get the database from the site. This site never was open to that issue and to be proactive I've added another layer of protection to prevent such an issue.
All of my vBulletin site passwords have been changed to ones that are darn hard to crack too. They never were the same as the passwords I have for this site.
The sad part is at first vBulletin management (Internet Brands) denied there was a hack till it was put in their face. It still took them 4 days to do anythign about it too.
I'll take your word for it, but whenever I see the phrase "Motor On," I immediately cringe, and have a difficult time believing the veracity of the statement. This is usually followed by some sort of nonsensical infraction issued on my behalf.
It was NAM. The forums there were full of "Show me your grill badge", "$69 Dollar Unichip ROCKS!!!!", and, most recently, "What is the best brand of Walnuts for my valves," so they tried to steal some threads over here in attempt to overcome the stagnation, simple as that.
Like the metaphor, "It ain't a party until something breaks," "It ain't a website until someone tries to hack it."
