First of all, thanks Nathan for all your hard work keeping our little clubhouse going....

Second, any idea why this site has been targeted - twice now?

A couple of days ago when all this was going on I tried to log in and got redirected - to a site that redirects you to the links they want you to go to - and I couldn't get back out without going to the task manager. I spent the next 5 hours debugging my system with Malwarebytes which found 26 Trojans on my system! I hope I caught them in time, before they spread anywhere else.

At any rate, I left the site alone for a couple of days and all seems back to normal now, just FYI.

 

Sorry to hear it. I can't see what one would achieve by attacking this site. :confused5:

 

I think it was an attempt by Lifan to bring down the site in an attempt to element competition for it's soon to be launched Lifan 320 based website Motoring Allegiance...just saying!

 

Was it directed at your hosting provided? There was a DOS event earlier this year targeting certain hosting companies. No need to answer here, just something else to consider.

 

Probably didn't have anything to do with the site directly. There have been a number of attacks on sites that place well in search engines or have a lot of traffic. Sometimes it's just wanting to cause havoc others it to try and get control.

We've had at least 7 sites hit this year. It was always to plant malware into the site for visitors to get stuck with.

 

Nate...send me an IP address if you want and let me see what I can find.
