ED- If you are gonna speed do it well.... Police have suspended the licence of a P-plate driver after he was detected allegedly driving at twice the speed limit in Sydney’s south-west this morning. Police from Macquarie Fields Highway Patrol were patrolling Appin Road at Bradbury at 7.15am when they saw a 2007-model white Mini Cooper S travelling north at high speed. Police will allege a radar check revealed it was being driven at 167kmh in the sign-posted 80kmh zone. The Mini stopped when directed and the 18-year-old man driving the car was subjected to a roadside breath test. The P2 licence-holder returned a positive result and the man, from St Helens Park, was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he returned a reading of 0.011. The man has been charged with: • Drive vehicle recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous; • Novice driver drive with novice range PCA; • Exceed speed by more than 45kmh; and, • Not display P-plates. The man’s licence was suspended on the spot. He was granted conditional bail to appear Campbelltown Local Court on 24 August. Source - Home Page - NSW Police Online
well, I bet it only felt like 75kmh to that kid. He could have told the police he could not find the speed-o-meter so he didn't know how fast he was really going. As we all know, that instrument is difficult to find in a Mini Cooper.
