    A few years back MINI did extend the warranty on the 04-06 O2 sensor to 10 Years / 100K miles. Being you have an 05 in theory if the O2 sensor is the faulty part here then you would be covered. There is a range of VINs that are covered. I might suggest a call to MINI US, 866-ASK-MINI

    You may have to gently remind your Service Adviser about the extension.

    MINI extended the O2 sensor warranty on all R53 MINI's to 100,000 miles.

    Nathan, I called Mini, they said if that's what it turns out to be it will be covered. My service advisor said the code i had meant nothing to him until the techs there used their system.

    was driving home from work this morning, light went off but came back on as i was pulling in to the driveway.

    last update. took it in today to prestige mini, it was an o2 sensor. problem solved.

    it's usually what comes first, 10 years, or 100k. I would say no matter what, that warranty has expired. It is almost 2018
