The driver really likes that I have a functional tow hook, no crawling around to get it on the flat bed. He always straps it down through the wheels making sure the metal bits on the straps are not touching anything. Doesn't hurt that I slip him a 20 too.

    Diagnosis...

Chain jumped a tooth probably as a result of the chain tensioner being stuck. Thats 2 of them for me in 6000 miles.

    Odd...

That is weird........I haven't heard of that many tensioner problems on the R53.

Hoping all engine internals are OK. New tensioner & chain is the fix?

Just a new tensioner. Spoke to Sam at MAG, since it was replaced by them back in April of this year. They are going to parts warranty the part too. I'm going to keep one in my glove box too. That way it will not happen again.

Glad it wasn't to bad, but I know how it feels to be stranded. Hopefully it wont be that expensive to get fixed.

Yep it sucks to be stranded, but at least Nathan's MINI had the courtesy to break down in front of his house. Now that's a great car!

How's your idle oil pressure when cold and hot?

I've been told it is fine. A gauge was hooked up for testing.

I will be adding an oil pressure gauge in the not to distant future.

Doc Anson told me the oil pressure is excellent in Gnat. Great news & that shows that Doc Chad did a great job.

:cornut: That's great Nathan. If there isn't already one, could you do a 'how to' article for the library?

....and maybe even someone could do a how-to on the tensioner replacement.
