I am west of philly and I can reset the adaptions but you should buy a BavTech cable. Just buy the basic cable $179.00

Resetting adaptives might solve the problem and clearing that code -- its a hard code. i.e. you need bavtech tool or similar, or stealership.
When you say air bubbles pre-cat do you mean the header was leaking. Or leaking at the header/cat-back gasket? Assume you have OEM header. -
P2096 tests
I stuffed a rag and an air line up the tail pipe and pressurized to 10psi, I sprayed soapy water on all the joints...I had a circumferential crack on the pre cat to collector weld. Probably because I neglected to replace the top motor mount. Not sure if this was the root cause. Only other oddities are a chattering evaporator purge valve, but no evap codes. The chattering sounds like a valve tap, and theoreticall could be a vacuum leak if the gas cap is bad. I've read some gas cap codes were deleted by dealers since they were a nuisance.:mad2: -

Hopefully that's causing it. Such a PITA code. Good luck.
