I'm trying to figure out how the rear hatch opens around the tail lights. I don't see a separation seam or any gap around the tail light for the hatch. It had front wipers but no rear wiper.

Soooo, Does anyone know what the background is for the "Paceman" name? We have the Countryman and now the Paceman. Does Paceman have some Mini heritage going on? Just wondering what went into the name?

On an early concept car like that, the hatch may fall off if opened, because the engineers have not designed hinges yet.

PACEMAN is a technique for radiographers to use to determine if a plain film radiograph is of diagnostic quality. It was devised in the 1980's by Roger Windle in Adelaide, South Australia to help other radiographers and students have a structured way in which to critique radiographic images. At the time, Pacman video game was the rage and it just so happened that the first letters of the areas that were identified as important to critique, made up the acronym PACEMAN. It has been widely used since then.

I'm going to go out a limb here and with great conjecture state that the name for the car is based on the Cricket definition. Some marketing guy was watching a Cricket match back in Oxford while tasked with coming up for a name for a 2 door version of the Countryman. With feet up on the desk and a Guinness in hand our Mr Marketing Guy saw a broad shouldered Cricketer on the Telly and our marketing guy had a lightbulb moment.
You heard it here first if true, otherwise its just the rambling meanders of my twisted mind. -
