Sorry Rick I have no clue what size tires those SUV's need.....
I would go for an All Season none run rock tires since they will last the longest.

:cornut: Your Father-in-Law and your son, well then I think that I'll just bump on this one and wait for the tire Gurus to show up.

I have seen customers who have ditched the run-flats come in with both of those sizes
Not sure which is going to have the best ride..but have seen both sizes.
How lucky for your youngest son....MINI's for everyone....:cornut:-

She does not drive in deep snow or ice and she does not road rally or track day in a Lexus RX350. Smooth, safe, quite and comfortable like a limo ride is more her style.
A/S tires are a good tire for what they are. It's not a dedicated tire for any particular season which means it's in the middle or ok in every season but not excellent in any season. You can run them year around but they will not be good in DEEP snow or Extreme high temp days and should never be on any kind of track day event.
For the above reasons I have dedicated Summer and Winter tires but that's because of the area of the country I live in. (North East)-

I believe that I have seen more of the 225/50/R17...For some reason I remember there being more options for tires with that size.....Hope that info is helpful ....

i have always run a Nitto NeoGen...great tire...good life span as well as great grip and seem to do well in just about any weather... i am planning on ditching my run rocks and going with a Neo... i have the 18's so mine are a 225/45/18 so you can run a 225 tire...if thought about doing a 235/40/18 next
