If you think it's cool and you've done it, let's see the results and please share the what's and how's you needed to get there.

If you think it's taboo, please share your opinion why. I won't bust on you for your opinion (others may but I won't)...

For me it's just one more thing to keep clean. If I ever do paint mine they will be black. Your MINI go for it!

I have mine painted yellow on my LY. As long as it's done right (I.E. no hot pink calipers, or sloppy work with paint on everything else) I don't have an issue with it.

I previously painted my rear calipers black to match the front Wilwood calipers. I used G2 paint and painted them by hand. It looked good, held up well, and stayed cleaner.
I my current Mini I have red front calipers and plan to paint the rears to match.

Actually, I do find the painted calipers easier to clean. Quick spray and a wipe down is all it takes.

Mine are painted red to match the JCW fronts. Is it cool or not, don't know, don't care. It keeps the calipers looking good and from getting all rusted up and making maintenace much easier.

Red G2 paint here also. Easy to clean and with the right wheels looks good too.

I plan on painting mine with the Blue Duplicolor Caliper Paint Kit, as it is easy to buy at Advanced Auto parts down the street from my house for a good price.

    Always BLUUUU

I converted the CMYK color I was thinking:
    RGB: 239 91 161

If that's hot pink, then I guess I'm guilty as charged :D

I agree that it actually helps with the cleaning process . I do mine about once a year and it takes less than 45 min . As for color that depends on your cars exterior color and what you are looking to achieve. Do you want them to blend or bring a bit of highlight. In my case the car is pretty much black and dark silver so a little bit of red lightens things a bit IMHO

When the weather warms up I'll be painting my calipers red, to match the car.

I hand painted mine red front and back including the caps on the rotors. Easy to keep clean with an old tooth brush and some simple green or other good cleaner. Once in a while rock chips need touched up. There are a couple of before and after pictures on my Flickr page at

RGB: 239 91 161 as seen in Hex

As compared to the other Hot Pink listed earlier.

There are some subtle shading differences.

I've got an '07 justa Cabrio - PS/Blue Top and Blue leather interior - so I painted my front and rear calipers Navy Blue!! I think it looks great, it's unique, and once a year I pull the wheels and wash them completely off. (The rest of the washes, I just hose 'em through the wheel spokes!)

Cool. Easy to keep clean oddly enough! I have R56 front (rears not installed just yet) painted Brembo Red custom mixed. (Thanks Bahman!)

Picture is from our MINI5280 toy run earlier this month and my MINI was kinda dirty.

I powder coated both the front and rear. In the past experience found the calipers are easier to clean
