I like Pandora mainly because I've had a station going for so long it's so tuned with the variety that I listen to. Also I've got a Pioneer double din touch screen head unit which has the Pandora app on it.

This is for the music in the garage. Old radio finally gave up (early 80's Panasonic boombox
) and wanted something I could stream from phone to speakers via wi-fi. I will be checking out the spotify now.

For me, Spotify. Easy to down load full albums or songs and custom build playlist. There radio stations by genre are also very good. I've got a playlist called MINI that has all my favorite music on it for driving.

Skip them all and use an iPod. Play the music you want to hear anytime.
-
Use them both and see what you like. Especially if you are only using the free versions, it's not like you need to commit to one or the other.

I've been rather happy with Pandora. Being I have musical tastes that can vary afar afield from ABBA to Zappa without missing much in between and the fact that I can 100 different stations makes it easy to add something new on the fly. Most of the time Pandora leads me to asome new discoveries, however it can get a bit stale too.
However they seem to not have much at all when it comes to the small indie bands.
I use the paid Pandora. -

Dave.0 Helix & RMW PoweredLifetime SupporterHey Scott do you have a decent set of PC speakers? If you do you can hook them up to your iPod in the garage. Then buy a better set for your PC.
I did this in my garage since my Polk PC speakers sounded great but I did not have a sub. I put the small 120 volt Polks in the garage and plug my iPod or iPhone in when I want music.
Then I went an got a nice new set of speakers w/sub for my PC. :ihih:
Just another idea.... -

Well it seems that my phone doesn't like to stream from any of them........lots of buffering with a very strong wifi signal. Looks like I will just stream my music from the phone to the speakers.

Something's wrong. Streaming radio uses relatively low bandwidth, and they automatically adapt to use even less when a poor connection is detected. What phone and system version are you running? Does it work on cellular connection?

I have an LG L39C running Android 4.1 1Ghz processor......should be ok, but got a lot of buffering while connected via wifi. Not so much with the 3g, but don't want to use up data while at home.

Have your tried changing the channel on the WiFi. They all seem to be set to the same one out of the factory. This causes some interference in populated areas. Did that here and about doubled my downloads speeds over WiFi.
-
In general, what is the quality of the phone's internet connection while on your Wi-Fi? Does web browsing work okay? As I said, streaming radio isn't particularly demanding. See what results you get if you run the Speedtest.net app.
