That's the same polisher I have used for years and I love it. I highly recommend it.

Three of my neighbors now have them and I have showed them how to use them.

They all asked to borrow mine and I said no unless they let me brake their arms.

FYI that price is a little high with nothing included. The one below has a video showing how to use it correctly. Also Autogeek.net has great combo packages and all the pads you could ever need.

Rick- I have a Griots dual action polisher. They are not hard to use. Do some searching & you will find many how-to videos. Every garage needs one of these.

 

One of the most important things is to power it up with the polishing pad making contact with the car body..... You don't want the pad spinning before contact....

 

You can make some wonderful swirl art with the pad spin off.

 

Yep holding one is better than watching a video. Maybe Rick can drive to Philly & do your MINI for you. Sort of a Tom Sawyer kinda thing eh Dave.

 

How difficult is it to learn to use this?

 

Hey Rick, it is very easy to use and you really cant burn your paint unless you put on a hard cutting pad with gritty compound and set the buffer to high and sit on it with all your weight. :lol:

Just to give you an idea of how easy it is to use and not damage your paint I have shown several rookies how to polish with a DA. I let instruct them and let them practice on my car. (yup the mistress) I trust the machine that much that even a rookie wont mess up my car. :lol::biggrin5:

Videos are good but holding the machine in your hand and polishing anything will do the trick before you move to your car. Hell I have even had people polish refrigerator and freezer doors just to get the fell of the machine. A soft pad and just wax will cause no harm to almost anything except plastic.

Also when polishing you really never need to go above setting 3 or 4 on the speed dial because of the micro fine polishes and chemicals in today polishes.

We are long past the days of using a rotary buffer with a wool pad and sand filled gritty compound. Back in those days 70's early 80's cars had no clear coat.
I could strip the paint off a new cars fender in 3 passes at setting 6 or 7. :lol::lol::lol: and I did it a few times.

 

I will teach anyone that would like to learn.

Heck maybe we can do a hands on demo at MOTD next year?
