Would some people share their pad cleaning practices?

I hand wash with dawn dishwashing soap, rinse well, and let them air dry. I don't always wash after each use. If I know I'll be using the pad again in a day or 2, I store it in a zip lock bag, charged with the product it was used with.

I have some 4 year old white pads, that still work great. Orange pads don't seem to last as long, but a couple of years no problem. Black pads if kept clean, last for years.
