Thanks Nathan and mrntd, it would be a shame to loose the wealth of information contained on that site.

We are taking a sabbatical from the site for an undetermined amount of time. We are still collecting information and plan to return with an updated data base and format. Thanks for your comments. They are very influential on our decision.

The best MINI defense system besides locking your doors is putting a sign on the dash that says:

"Caution ! The driver of this car has very contagious, Bronchus, Malaria, Tuberculosis, Diarrhea, MONO, Sars, AIDS. Don't believe me? Enter at you own risk."

I have bumped a Kryptonite stick between my cars for years. You can lock it between the steering wheel and clutch on a standard, or brake on an automatic as I'm showing here. I'm not sure if it's still being made, but I'd highly recommend it if so...

    yup...
    2 MAJOR Issues
    1) is modern steering wheels are made to breakaway...
so HARD hit...it snaps...then driveway with the center...
2)with a MINI, it has the EWS system in the KEY...so NO HOTWIRE....
so the car is usually TOWED AWAY (like most modern cars) when stolen......
so a steering wheel lock is of ZERO VALUE.

Guess I'm just a lucky guy (as I knock on my wooden leg). I've always lived within the belief that if they want it, they can have it... With auto theft and other ancillary auto related crimes as high as they are out here, like it or not it's just a mindset one has to come to accept.
