This may sound weird, but if you carry a concealed weapon, check which States have reciprocity with your home state. If you are going to MOTD from Oh, and going thru KY to Tn...you are safe. I had a friend of mine get in a world of s$$t over this.

That's because they don't want you and Dave leaving them so far behind and getting to clear out all the donuts before they even get there!

We are driving up from Florida tonight. Any suggestions for getting through or around Atlanta? I ve heard a rumor that I85 through the city is actually not so bad now because everyone is staying clear. Any thoughts, experience?

Dave when you get a chance can you fill us in on what happened? Was the V1 broken or did they spy you with their detector detector?

I don't even bother with a detector any more since I live in VA. With the instant on Radar and laser once you get an indication it's too late anyway, unless you catch the emissions from them shooting at a car ahead of you. Several years ago I got popped by a radar detector detector on the road between Richmond and home. Got the ticket, and he wouldn't let me leave until I disabled the unit. Don't remember the brand, but I had had it built in on the car and all components hidden so you couldn't see anything except from the drivers seat. It was handy when I was traveling a lot before retiring from the USAF. Disabling it was a PITA so I never bothered with it again. These days I set the cruise at +5 and go with that on the highways, unless the traffic is flowing faster. Then, I will run with the pack and just make sure there is someone out in front of me. Coming back from the Dragon on I-40 the traffic was running at 80-85 at times so we made pretty good time. Even with a couple of rest stops we got home 15 minutes before the Garmin said we would. YMMV
Also curious about your mishap Dave.
