That's rallying - if you're going to do stupid things like taking your foot off the accelerator pedal, just because of something trivial*, you're never going to win enough to make it to the top.
* Examples of 'trivial' things that shouldn't stop a good rally driver are:
- being 20 feet off the road, down a ditch you can't see out of (hey, enough throttle may get you out of the ditch...);
- losing one wheel (OK, I admit, losing two is a problem);
- not having either oil or coolant in the motor (you never know, the motor might just last to the end of the stage and your mechanic is bound to have a spare one in his toolbox....).
Hands up those who saw Loeb getting angry with the Welsh police when they told him his three-wheeled car was not in a roadworthy-enough condition to drive on open public roads back to the service park a few years ago.
:deadhorse:
For once, this is the perfect smilie - if a car can move 10 more feet under its own power, a rally driver will do it.
