I push it, but nothing happens? I've read a little about having to retrofit Bluetooth on the 2008 MCS, but all I've found are mentions of steering wheel controls. I have no steering wheel controls. The user manual says the button is for answering calls, but if I can't connect my phone to the car, then the button is useless.
It is useless until you buy a kit... This was not an option but they thought ahead in giving the capability... At least that's what I have found out in regards to my 06...
I use that button to pretend I can shoot MINIVANs driving 10 mph under the speed limit in the left lane.
Was it a mini dealership? The lot I got my mini (not a mini dealer)thought I had Bluetooth and an HK system... Neither was true... Thanks to my post about audio stuff I got a great link that told me what I had based on the vin... luckily I talked them down in price and am not too upset over being misinformed... No offense to car salesmen but they would tell you the car can fly if it makes them more money....
I went through the same disillusionment with my 08. I got over it pretty quickly though. Now I just mount the phone on the dash, have a USB/Audio cable going into the AUX port and play music while having my nav app open. I don't really talk on the phone in the car under the best of circumstances though, since I'm having too much fun DRIVING!
