Just ordered one from Amazon after seeing it elsewhere and searching for a decent solution for weeks now. Nice to see how it fits in a MINI.
I assume the white adapter is a 30-pin --> Thunderbolt? I'm hoping the stock cable reaches the bottom of my iPhone 4 while contained in this thing...
Not sure the track change issue is iOS 6, though... Running it on my iPhone 4 and track change works fine from the steering wheel.
Thanks for the photo! -

This looks usable, is it tight and strong enough to use on the track for lapping days, I am thinking iPhone running rev being loaded up by my kiwi wifi.
Hummmm, guess I will have to try it out.

Don and Jason, am curious as to how much "vertical bounce" you get with this on rough roads. IME, it's always been the biggest drawback of other phone mounts I've tried with supposedly clever mounting strategies. I'm wondering if the attached Y-cable actually helps mitigate this.

I've used it for about a week now and it continues to impress. It is very sturdy with very little bounce or shake.
The bottom "stand" is removable. I've removed it as it seemed to just get in that way. The phone still stays and does not move. Mine is a 30 pin to lightning adapter for my iPhone 5. Stock Y cables reaches just fine. The way the mount is built, it can also be installed "upside down" which would lower its stance a bit.
Only issue I have is where the cable falls. I tend to almost grab it when I shift. Simple fix would be to tie it back a bit, but not a major concern. -

Well, if you had posted earlier Nathan, I would have used your link.
Gil, I will let you know if it bounces through turn 4 into 5 and down to 6.

My wife and I have these for our MINIs. She uses it for her iPhone and I use it for my Garmin. Mine has the removable bottom holder so the GPS is more centered when holder is on its side. My wifes is a newer version with the bottom holder able to be folded in so you don't lose it like I did, both very stable. I've used mine for four months with daily GPS inputs and has not come loose yet. The cables I've zip tied to length and put in cubbie under switches, I have them plugged into a Monster 2 slot USB plug in the lighter. Great items.

After a couple of days, I'm able to report that I'm quite happy with it. I'm afraid to tighten it down too much, but "snug" is sufficient anyway it seems. I don't drive really rough roads, but stuff like speed bumps and drainage dips don't seem to bother it one bit.
As another reported here, the factory audio cable is a tad bit in the way, and I tend to run into it with my hand. Not too difficult to just tuck away slightly. Rotating the connector around seems to put a nice "S" in the cable that makes that easy enough.
Really like the end result...
