Motoring through Alberta, I met some friendly prairie dogs at a rest stop.

 

Thank you to my friend Mike McGill, who took this interesting drone photo of Rufus at MOTD 2022.

 

I'll throw something in that was taken at a car care headquarters showroom. Y'all may not having any trouble identifying the company. Were I getting paid to promote them, I'd mention the name.

 

A bit of a Frankenstein set up here. A Nikon D3200 dSlr using a Canon FD 55mm F 1.2 lens. (1970's vintage).
Need to shoot manually, but the F1.2 aperture gives me great speed and bokeh control.

 

Good how to CD. I love a good pan shot. There has to be wheel blur or the cars look to static.

 

A new to me camera landed at the old folks home yesterday.

 

You will encounter the same problems with long exposures as you do with high ISO settings. I'm not talking about 15 minute exposures, but using a long exposure instead of a high ISO. Noise.

That is one of the reasons I don't want a 36MP DSLR, unless it is a big-chip Hasselblad, which I can't justify buying from a business point of view. Do I want one? Yes. Will it pay for itself anytime soon? No.

My 16MP Nikon D4 does a great job in low light. Too many pixels on a sensor means noise (the digital version of grain from the film days).

I don't need to do a lot of low light work, but I sometimes shoot some of my college friends when they play local clubs. I shot this at 12,800 ISO -- handheld.

I like to shoot on the extreme ends of perspective. Here a view at 840mm equivalent, no crop. You don't see the dirt diffusers suck off the road too often unless you go in very tight in very good lighting conditions
