10 years ago!... How time flies... One of my favorite photos with my Buddy Spirit [R.I.P. 04~04-2018] throughout our 14 years full time camping. The thought was to take off for a few months. Somehow it lasted a bit longer.
This was about 2 weeks ago. The sun had set and it was getting dark. We ended up running the rest of the Dragon and Hell Bender in the dark. The ride home was in the rain but it was still a good time.
What a great adventure! My youngest son had planed on taking his Scout on a 2 month ride across the U.S. but life has got in his way. Perhaps he will still make it.
"Mini of El Paso" [New Mexico] is the only Dealership in the Country who puts together "at their expense" a Rally/Get together twice a year. Yesterday was one of them with Breakfast, lunch and more... What a sight... 70 Minis! [Seventy] Well escorted out of town blocking intersections for us and ignoring red traffic lights and stop signs!!! I must say... that is a blast to drive as such. Here are some of the photos...
[Las Cruces Car and Truck show] Breakfast anyone?... Imagination sure can run wild!!! I guess he was just hungry throughout his project...
It seems I remember there use to be a cook book that had recipes for cooking food on your engine. Also I believe i remember someone telling a story of their mom putting food in aluminum foil and putting it on the engine and after a certain amount of miles they would stop at the road side and have lunch. This was when families still drove cross country.
Very true! It was easy on BMW motorcycles as the jugs extended in opposite directions! The things we did!...
You need a copy of both of these Dave. https://www.amazon.com/Manifold-Destiny-Guide-Cooking-Engine/dp/1416596232/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1DIDJCG1NPG0F&keywords=manifold+destiny+cookbook&qid=1572539661&sprefix=manifold+destiny%2Caps%2C159&sr=8-1 https://www.amazon.com/Original-Road-Kill-Cookbook/dp/0898152003/ref=sr_1_1?crid=DBN9NR56A1YV&keywords=roadkill+cookbook&qid=1572539732&sprefix=roadkill+%2Caps%2C175&sr=8-1
At truck stops you can also buy 12v powered devices that look a lot like lunch boxes, but work like slow cookers. I've also seen several dishes made in aluminum foil on engines, as mentioned above... we used to do something similar for camp fires. I've had friends who tried it on a muscle-car once... 'sooty' was the adjective they chose to describe their end product.
