I believe the link will work even if you don't have a facebook account. It was just a fantastic weekend. I will apologize for not posting my trip earlier. I thought I told some people but maybe not. I forget who I tell, I help run about three clubs and can't remember everything.
The link works for me. Thanks for sharing your pictures with us Jason. Is that green S Paul & Sue's Mini?
Thanks for sharing the photos, that's me behind the dark gray classic! To everyone that didn't make it you really missed a great weekend!!
I am working on the video right now. I am sure you will be in the video so I will make sure to post it when I am done. It will be a few days. Jason
I took so many photos and have only gotten around to a few of them. They aren't all MINIs or Minis but there was just so much eye candy it it's hard to choose. What an awesome event this was! Definitely visiting the Pittsburgh VGP next year and probably heading back to WGI. With better camera equipment next year, for sure. And bonus points to anyone who can name the man standing next to that Ford.
Thanks, Mo! This was sensory overload. What an amazing thing. The pits are wide open and you can just wander around, talk to drivers and crew if they're chatty, and peer right into things you normally can't see. I was a vintage race newbie and really loved the access. Next time I'll take more than an iPhone for photos. I enjoyed an impromptu ride in Charlie's classic, drank some great wine, bought more than I should have, found the distillery and some great BBQ. And riding along on the old circuit through town is a memory I'll never forget.
I am going to go back to Pittsburgh next years VGP for sure. I went a few years ago with the Pitstop mini club and had a great time.
I'm looking forward to it quite a bit. We took Matt's MINI to WG so I can take mine to Pittsburgh. Fair deal, I think!
From the PVGP website: "The PVGP is the nation’s largest vintage race event, covering ten full days – with each event focusing on MINI. All MINI’s are welcome, brand new and vintage. Our 2014 Race Week is slated for July 11 through 20 with July 19/20 as Race Weekend at Schenley Park" This sounds great! We're moving to the Florida Gulf Coast next summer, so I hope the timing works out so I can go. Are certain days better than others, or is the entire event a must-see?
It's close to 4 hours from Northern Virginia, so I'd probably want to do a few days. I'll really have to check out the '14 PVGP calendar (already posted) and pray it works out with my move.
