Glad you survived. I'd probably been killed to death. Good thing you had a lens hood on to absorb the impact. Maybe you should carry a 3 step ladder like I see some folks do. You gaining elevation explains some of the angles I couldn't figure out how you achieved.

What were those Indy/dirt track open wheeled cars? I've never seen those at a NASA event before.
BTW, you don't need a dedicated track car to run a NASA HPDE, you can go PLENTY fast in your street car. I drove a stock 115K mile Saturn coupe on rock hard cheap Chinese tires at one at Watkins Glen a few years ago and had a blast! I was red lined in 4th at about 115 mph down that back straight too! -

Seeing some of the carnage that happened on Saturday through all of the HPDE groups and the TT and PT race groups, I'm not willing to stick my DD out on the track. -
