I was just wondering if there are any other pilots on here? At the airport I fly out of we have myself, three other pilots, and a mechanic who have MINIs but I am the only one who is actively involved in the MINI Community. Post pictures of the plane(s) you fly if you'd like, with your MINI would be even cooler Stories and Hangar Talk are welcome too Here is the plane I usually rent to fly, a regular Cessna 172, but I have flown some various airplanes from a Stearman, Pilatus PC12 (right seat), Cessna 421, ultralight, and other small aircraft.
:cornut: My sister and her husband are pilots. Sandra has/flies a Citabrea and Jerry flies/has a Cessna 210 turbo(bussiness aircraft). I'm the Military Parachutist and Parascuba(parachute gear over top of diving gear and parachuting into the ocean)retired. That was mildly stressfull as lacerating one's skin on the way out of the air craft meant that upon hitting the water, one was trolling for sharks.:lol::lol::lol: Jason
Very nice!! Sounds like quite the stable they have, Jason. Planning on going sky diving next year, two of my good friends own the skydiving school on the field. Had to build up enough confidence lol
:cornut: Yes while sky diving things happen at 120mph(180mph if tracking) which leaves NO time for mistakes or being unsure of oneself or the equipment. The Air Force(although they do have PJ's, CCT,and the forward weather forcaster people)used to tell us that one never jumps out of a perfectly good air craft and that only 2 things fall out of the sky, bird dung and fools. You'll do just fine. We know that your heads screwed on straight as you're a MINI person. Jason
:cornut:Being as politically correct as I can be, what ever happened to ATP's being able to be proactive in the security of their air craft and passengers. Me, I was all for this even when the very thin spread Sky Marshalls could be aboard. What ever happens to the air craft and passengers, the Captain is 1st in line for civil/criminal charges. Jason
I use to fly I had a Cessna 120 that was murdered ( hit by a runaway plane and totaled ) and then had a part owner in a C 172. I dont fly anymore sure miss it.
The ultimate pilot's machine is probably the Ecomobile - the yellow one above, with retractable stabilisers. I think almost a majority of the buyers of these Swiss machines have a commercial license.
My father is a MINI owner and Pilot. He has a Grumman Traveler that he flies regularly and is currently building a Van's RV-7.
I am no Pilot, dont have airplane (but I like them), no experience on parachute, but I couldnt be out of this thread. At least I know EMBRAER!!! Let's me start again from another point of view: I am "pilot" I "fly" under the radar my Mini Cooper S 2006 on route I95 but the front sppliter and the spoiler are producing ground effect, I may flip them to see what happens. And I can see airplane from my office window. Does it count? I will post a picture.
I'm a pilot. Although some of my first officers would disagree. I have some, not so smart, friends that skydive. If you want me to jump out of the jet you better have a BIG stick. All my flying is at night. No I'm not a smuggler just not to bright.
:cornut: I forgot to mention that Sister Sandra is Past President of her chapter of The 99's. The original female pilots organisation of ,obviously, the 1st 99 female pilots including Amelia Earhardt, Pancho Barnes, and Jackie Cochran. Jackie Cochran was the 1st female to break the sound barrier(under the coaching of Chuck Yeager). I'd say that Sandra was 99 #2(in jest) but I'd get cracked over the head with a blunt instrument.:lol::lol: Interestingly when Sandra joined they had a printed logo of their own Flight Wings but no Pin On Wings to display on their Jackets. So I took the printed logo to a local Jeweler and he made up 2 wings badges in silver and I gave 99's Wings #1 to Sandra. Now the 99's have official pin on wings. Jason Jason
:cornut: No she's a 99s pilot whose little brother owns an 08 R56 MCS/JCWm BRG MINI named Margi Jason
