Keep it coming everyone! I flew down to South Carolina on Jan. 2 to visit some of my MINI family there. Was planning on going on the Dragon again but weather conditions weren't ideal. I'll post some pictures when I get back to NJ
I be a pilot I "pile it here and I pile it there". Actually, 20 years as an AF Navigator always looking at the rear end of "two horses asses", sitting in front of me.
Finally got around to uploading pictures online from the trip. Took MANY but I will post a some of my favorites. Flight path from N85 to KSPA At the end of the Shenandoah Valley as I started my descent into Lynchburg, VA for a bathroom stop Resort and lake where Dirty Dancing was filmed in NC I think the frustration that came out of this moment is self-explanatory :mad2: BMW Zentrum Museum Roadster on the Blue Ridge Parkway Countryman under the wing before packing up our luggage into the 172. Don't want to go home Smokies in NC Back home safe and sound. The plane matches Gizmo This was my first long cross-county as PIC and in the 172 (the other times were in the right seat on corporate flights). What a rewarding experience to do that and to be honest it wasn't difficult. Had an awesome time.
Great pictures! But what, no pilot relief tube? Yea, those trailer draggers outta be out on the 4 lanes where they belong and leave the good roads to those who know what to do with them.
Our butts were hurting after 3 1/2 hours. I also planned to stop because a weather system was over my destination airport so I needed to give it more time for the front to move the bad weather out. Granted the 'better' weather was about 4 mi. visibility and ceiling 2,000 ft above the ground.
Did you ever take the 'Pinch Hitter' course? My co-pilot did and it made a positive difference in the overall comfort level aloft. She can handle a 6 speed and a road full of twisties pretty well too.
Me too. Gave it up a few years ago when fuel really skyrocketed... Learned and flew a Piper Warrior and a Cherokee 180, and Cessna 150s and 172s occasionally... I can go so much farther per dollar in my Mini R50 or my Harley though...
