https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blancpain_GT_World_Challenge_America From what I understand, 8 classes is whittled down to 3. And TCR's are a stand alone class. What do you all think? What do you all know? Excited? Bummed? I've always liked the immense variety that was in the PWC, but the class structure(s) seemed sloppy over the years. I'm very much looking forward to the simplicity of things going forward, and hoping indeed that TCR's are run alone. Great cars! I love them. But their bodywork is so different from everything else.
I need to look into the changes... but I do like PWC especially in the early years. I'll take a look at the new rules.
I had planed to keep up with the races this year but its hard to find the TV times and when I go to their app half of the videos are recaps or interviews. Next year. I only caught 3 F1 races.
Lee check on Racer.com. They always have listings for the coming weekend of racing. You won't find any info now, but it is a great resource for all kinds of racing news.
PWC had a real problem with classes and types of races. Went to the race at Portland and had no idea what the difference was between the SprintX race and whatever the rest was......... Hope they can get it straightened out cause the racing is great.
I kind of feel that way about motorsports in general nowadays. I like a lot of the racing cars, but not necessarily the series they are in. I feel like I've seen the Mazda Miata/MX-5 in TC. Nah. I miss the old NATCC. To me, those were touring cars. TCR's are nice, though (though I wish they'd run alone. They look pretty different).
Agreed - to me some of the best GT racing is in the WEC and IMSA classes. But I really miss the old German Touring Car series when they ran real cars...
Seems few series run real cars anymore. If you can catch a BTCC race. Some of the closest racing I've ever seen.
