The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is coming!!!

What: Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix (PVGP) PittStop MINI Club Main Event
    - Caravan: closed streets for us this time!
    - Breakfast/coffee
    - Lunch & frosty beverages
    - Watch racing and a HUGE car show
    - Opportunity to sponsor PVGP Charities and MINI Track Rides cars!

    When: July 20th, 8AM - 4PM
Where: Starts near Hot Metal Bridge, ends up in Schenley Park to watch the racing!
Who: PittStopMINI Club (main sponsor for this event: MINI of Pittsburgh!)
How: Register NOW on Home - PittStop MINI Club

Mark your calendars for July 20th near Schenley Park! The PVGP is, so far, the single largest MINI event of the calendar for this entire REGION! Last year we had nearly 200 Minis and 400+ people come to the PVGP car show, take in the free lunch, and the spectacle of vintage sports car racing in the streets of Pittsburgh in Schenley Park! If you were there, you know the thrill. If you didn't make it, you don't know what you're missing - this is THE "see and be seen" event of the summer. We gather in a so-far-secret parking lot, we caravan (this year on CLOSED STREETS!) to Schenley Park, where we participate in a 20,000 vehicle "car and people show", while watching vintage sports car racing, eating free food and beverages (THANK YOU MINI of PITTSBURGH!), and basically have a BLAST!

PVGP is a CHARITY event - meaning the PVGP charities (the Autism Society, and the Allegheny Valley Charter School) benefit from our attendance - and THIS year we have several ways YOU can also participate to make the event a bigger success - AND have more FUN.

    THIS YEAR:
    - CLOSED ROUTE! Thanks to Chris and Mini of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Police Department will be "clearing the way" for us to PARADE into Schenley Park! No more closing down Squirrel Hill, this time we've got the Good Guys on our side! We're still arranging the specific meeting point - likely South Side near Hot Metal Bridge - but stay tuned this will be COOL. Donuts, coffee, pictures, and head to Schenley to watch the RACING!

    - FOOD AND FROSTY BEVERAGES: At Schenley Park, Mini of Pittsburgh is paying our $25/car donation to park AND providing lunch and keg "beverages" for members to enjoy!

    - PVGP Charities Benefit: The usual 50/50 benefiting the PVGP Charities - last year we raised over $500 for PVGP this way, and our winner likewise took home >$500! We'll also be "passing the hat" for PVGP! Since our attendance is pretty much fully sponsored, we don't want to miss the opportunity for anyone to personally sponsor the PVGP Charities and all the good they do for autistic children and people in the Pittsburgh area. Last year the PVGP charities stroked a check for $250,000.00 toward the charities, and this year we want to do even better - help if you can.

    - NEW: MINI TRACK RIDES! MINI Track Rides are three MINIs that take some pretty speedy laps around the tracks themselves between heats - it's a truly unique way to see the track and the Event. The Club has been a MINI Track Rides sponsor for years, and as such each registered person will be entered to WIN one of 9 "hot seats" for a MINI Track Ride, but if you're not one to leave things to chance...

For a donation of $40 you can PERSONALLY sponsor the Track Rides Minis - and as a reward for that donation, you'll get a reserved personal "hot lap" in one of the Track Rides Minis at either PittRace or Schenley Park! You'll have that option on the Home - PittStop MINI Club site, simply click on "Track Rides" and register there to sponsor the Track Rides Minis - you'll also get a chance at some cool PVGP Track Rides "schwag"! Leave us your email and we'll arrange your personal "hot seat" at either Schenley or the slightly faster PittRace the weekend prior!!

We know you're excited, so go register at Home - PittStop MINI Club now! It's only $5/person!

Any idea where the drive over to the park begins? That may make a choice of lodging somewhat easier.
