Problem is, not everyone does FB. But I guess I'm in the minority.

I don't do Facebook, at all. I'm afraid I'd have a helluva lot'a pissed off folks out there... The slow death here is what it is, it seems. Not sure why, but it feels as though the site isn't as user friendly anymore. For an older F like me, figuring out how to address all the subtle, recent changes presents a challenge I simply don't have the time to mess with... So, I navigate as I'm able, interject a few casual digs and quips, and save the rest of my time for productive use.

It's great to drop in and see you guys a few times a week. It's a shame they don't serve beer here.

Well crap...if this site goes, I might as well trash my pc. I shall NEVER do Farcebook!:frown2:

I don't order cigars anymore as I have more than enough to outlast the Federal Gov't. banning purchases.

Emailing would be the only thing left. Dammit...it's time to drown my sorrows in a looong exhaled smoke....

Is it that more people are on FB, or that fewer new MINI owners join these forums as to most of them it's "just a car", or a combination of both? Is MA (or NAM) both on FB?

Lost makes a point. The days of the MINI enthusiast are slowly waning and most of them have been so for long enough a helpful forum is no longer needed to solve the myriad mysteries of the Gen 1.
...and if you're too timid to tell Dave O. to take a flying leap, well...

I think forums like this are still helpful for troubleshooting issues and getting ideas/advice on mods, but for me FB offers a more un-moderated social experience. When I bought the GTI, I joined a VW forum, but only really used it to find info/answers. My interaction with other owners was more through the couple of FB groups I joined. I suspect that my experience with the Fiesta ST forums will be similar.

New MINI owners are not enthusiast at all, they just think the car is cool looking (F56 puke) and don't care about the cult group that see the car as a bonding experience with other owners.

Why? MINI is no longer a unique and special little car with its fun little quirks.

I've seen this same thing going on in several different forums that I follow, so the "MINI has changed and I don't like it" thing is not relevant. You also seem to be saying that new MINI owners don't care about the cult group that see the car as a bonding experience with other owners, but yet you rant about LXM. Isn't that what they are doing....bonding over a car that they all purchased.

You asked me if I was going to join a Ford forum in my other thread, so I will ask you "Why are you still here"? When you heard about MINI Unfiltered you were so quick to claim M/A dead and boring and that you were going to enjoy the freedoms of MINI Unfiltered, but from what I saw you were no different then you are here (actually maybe even a little reserved).
