That's a tough one.......I recently redid my aero front bumper "trim" with Plasti-dip spray and it has held up a whole heck of a lot better than the original textured trim spray did. But it is a "softer" base then the metal is. I really like it so far.
Nice thing about it tho, is you can get it off very easily if it doesn't work out for you.

Plastidip will be good until you actually need to tow your car then it might rub off so that's the only thing you should worry about.

for tow hooks, using the traditional "dipped" plasti-dip works better. Puts a thick coating on the hook like on a pair of pliers. Will still get damaged when you actually use the hook for towing... but easy to peel off and re-dip.

"dipped".
Well, that sets up a whole new set of questions. :skep:
With the tow hook already installed, how am I going to pick up the entire car to dip the hook into the can. :frown2:
Sheesh, of all the hairbrained ideas.ut:

Mmmmm......"dipped" may not be a bad idea after all Blimey........ -

Hint: rotate the hook counter-clockwise.
Or rotate the MINI counter-clockwise, while holding the hook stationary
This makes dipping easier

I mean, this isn't rocket science, is it? :ihih:

I have a spare tow hook that I can use! -
I spray PlastiDipped my chrome gas door almost two years ago now and it still looks just like when I sprayed it. No chipping or peeling....PlastiDip FTW!!! I'm gonna be PlastiDipping my brothers front grill and door moulding strips on his white Jetta black sometime this summer. Great stuff, recommend it on anything!

PlastiCoat the dipped version has lasted about 4 years in the rear so far and 3 in front I peeled it off and redipped it, seems to get dirtier in front. Oh and 2 tows on the oem red "dipped" tow hooks.
