Nope no stripes, I've never really cared for stripes unless they are on a Mustang... I'm thinking the screamin orange belt will suit the car best, and if I need more color, I will throw a bright orange 10' kayak on the roof! :)

Today its snowing... Not much in town yet, but I was purposely sliding around Lookout Mountain for a little joy ride! :D

    Yay! Porkies first campin' trip!

Just outside of Red Cliff CO (think Leadville) and far from the friggin city dwellers!

However, I am posting on the internet, so I would normally say its not far enough!
It is the first time having the Porker up in the sticks away from blacktop though. From what I have found so far, the R60 is NOT a rock crawler! The clutch at low speed over rougher terrain is a nightmare! It also SUCKS (my name) in a little bit of soft gooey mud... The ALL4 system doesnt know what to do with it... Other than that, it's smooth, quiet, and mostly comfortable. [emoji3]
Space was a bit of an issue, but if I ever get that roof rack strengthened up, painted, and assembled, that solves that! It took about half a tank to get the 150 or so miles up here (haulin' up I-70) so thats not bad either...

Well I have to get a fire pit built, wood collected, and find some sort of little critter to eat! Stay tuned for updates throughout the weekend, happy fathers day eve![emoji41]

Once I started living down there the summer before I graduated, there was a group of people who would hold time trial style races across the top in the middle of the night! Nothing like doing 100+ on a road thats 9 feet wide with a 600 foot drop on each side... :D

Sometimes I wonder how I have lived this long!

    The Porkers new look...

Color matched the emblems, and the 2015 center grill bar to the Midnight Grey body color...

Took the Orange off the grill surround. (Sorry if you liked it, to me it looked like lipstick on a pig!) and hit it up with a Jet black base with black flake in the clear... It needs a bit of wet sanding, stupid flakes that don't want to lay flat. [emoji35]

Then the trim rings around the lights, also got a Jet Black base with a small amount of black candy pearl in the clear. It gives just a touch of color contrast against the Midnight Grey. [emoji2]

Put everything back together at 6AM thismorning, then headed off to MINI Of Loveland for a group drive with MINI-COW. [emoji41]

Almost got in a fight (not surprising) with a guy in a Jeep, who nearly put me in the ditch on purpose because he didnt want any of us passing him! It was in a passing lane, the speed limit was 40MPH, and he was doing 25-30 up the mountain slowing down to 10 in the corners... Like a pack of 20 MINI's is really going to stay behind him! [emoji37]

Paint isn't done yet still have some things to do... That will be coming up soon enough, then the craziness will continue! [emoji12]

MINI just called. They want to sell you the next car as boxes of loose parts, so you won't have to waste any time taking it apart. :biggrin5:

Leave the porker alone, work on and invest time and money in the RatRod.

Ther porker looks good and runs well so leave it alone for now.

Funny thing was, she parked in the back section of the new cars... Customers were walking around and saw me taking the lights out, then walked by like they didn't see anything...
But the salesman once I got everything buttoned back up was priceless...

Here I am, some random guy in a goofy hat carrying a set of taillights away from a line of brand new R60's, the look he gave me was priceless! Then he asked what I was doing, so I told him "Just swapping out taillights for a friend". It took him a few minutes to realize that not all the R60's on that line were for sale... Luckily I got out of there without being in handcuffs! [emoji12]

Yes, yes he did! I'll take the compliment the new GF (sorta) is 1000 miles away, and I don't get to hear that very often.

Its got to be after we turn the power and water on down there... Fire up the grill at the other house, have a BBQ, and enjoy Copper Gulch road, SH-69, and 50 for a nice round trip! I will need to run a RECON ride the week before to make sure the lower MINI's can get into the driveway... Should have enough room for around 30 of us. ;)

Uploading todays Snow Drifting to YouTube now... :)

Why can you not totally disable the traction control on the R60, its stupid! Even with the system switched off I would still get a flashing TCS light and it would cut power. :(

Still lots of fun though... Like sledding for adults! :D

Nope it will stay the way it is. I'm sure I will learn to love it this summer, when I start having withdrawals from not being able to take the top and doors off.

Thanks guys. Next up is figuring out how to pull the new (to 2015) silver trim on the skirts and bumpers off to make them gloss black... Might spring the $140 and get the JCW lower section to the front bumper. [emoji13]
