It was $30K but with the taxes, and the 100,000 mile warranty (Because 2nd Gen MINI), and the $6,500 rolled over from the Jeep, total was $39K.

I agree, but a $30K sticker is really the going rate for anything short of the Koreans though.

Found the perfect campin crap carrier rack for the roof of the Porker on fleabay... For only $80! So I took a chance and ordered it...

$80 Is a lot better than the $200+ an aluminum cargo basket will normally run, and if I have to modify it to make it work I'm still coming out ahead. :D

Well the roof rack came in... Can we say the quality directly reflects the price on this one!

The aluminum is maybe 1/32 thick! So its not going to hold much. The floor slats sag with just 10 pounds of weight, so I will reenforce that and add some tie downs for a cargo net.

Still it doesn't look bad sitting up there, and its cheapness means its light weight.

Dont mind my dirt... Thats coming off after I post this. And an oil change (5000 mile) is happening tomorrow. :)

Looks good on the Porker, bracing will fix it, but it appears the basic structure is good.

Have to see it in person.

Btw, I am looking at about 41K for the next CM without the damn taxes and registration fees, thanks for all the numbers, now I know what I have to put into the savings pot.

    :)

Your'e getting into JCW territory with that price Don... I just wish I could trade the sun roof for the Xenon headlights, and mine would be perfect for me!

MINI has a 25W Xenon retro-fit, but all set up its about $1K to do, so thats going to have to wait a while. Still doesn't solve the 90 pounds of glass above my head problem though. :(
