Enlarging the throttle body bore will not hasten throttle response and will not increase mid-range power.
The diameter of a section past the vacuum ports on the supercharger intake duct is smaller than OEM throttle body bore size, this limits air mass per time unit before the supercharger, regardless of bore diameter upstream.
Keep in mind when the shape of a bore/tube is altered, its fluid diameter changes. Elliptical shapes flow less volume than round tubes for the same perimeter measurement. The ID profile of the supercharger intake duct is very irregular, and changes shape continuously throughout, this compounds reduced volume affect.

As for mid-range performance, the head can only pump so much air volume at a given rpm, to increase performance for that rpm there must be more oxygen density contained in the same volume (or another efficiency enhancement in the combustion process), we overdrive the supercharger to increase density.-

Now I came into the MINI thing after the AGS was out of production but I did read about it quite a bit. Correct me if I am wrong here but was not one of the issues with the unit being that made of metal it would heat soak?
If one was to come back on the market would it not be best if the unit was made of or coated with a material that prevented heat soak?-

Not the same, the air box is not located between the back of the radiator and the front of the block.
