@Zapski OK - interesting. I have the smaller iPad Pro. I need to look up the image size for the ipad 12" (i.e. number of pixels)... that maybe the issue. Currently the max pixel size is 12MP.. I may need to adjust it as the max image storage size is 4.5 MB... I'm not on 11.2.2 yet.. I'll try some things before upgrading and then upgrade and try again. Give me a few minutes on this one.. I'll be testing on this thread (pics that are already there are from something else) https://www.motoringalliance.com/threads/testing-different-ways-to-upload-image.30240/
I got the Avatar to load, by cropping smaller. Looking at the file info for what I wanted to upload, it’s 12.2 Megapixels- taken on an iPhone 6s+ 4032 x 3024 That seems to be pretty standard for my phone’s camera, even my current 8+ Maybe I it’s the extra 0.2 megapixels?
Agreed - I should be able to fix that in a few minutes if its what I think it is. Before I make that change, I want to test something as I had tested from iPhone 6, 7, 8, X previously and the only two issues were "live" and HIEC that I knew of.. Back in a few once I've made some changes and tested a few things.
Looks like I can change my current status in the sidebar. It’s on the profile page where I get spam words warnings.
No rush, I know it’s whack-a-mole I just figured I’d provide as much specific info as I can. Thanks for all the hard work!
@Zapski - this I believe is resolved.. not only for the size but also for the file type.. i.e. HEIC. I realize you are not using but I'm sure others are... run some test over in the testing area and let me know if you see any issues with the files you previously tried to upload. https://www.motoringalliance.com/threads/testing-different-ways-to-upload-image.30240/
Browsing the new site, trying to figure out how to get the info I want. At least I was able to update the avatar to a square pic --- pretty painless. Anyhow, here's a quick-fix problem for someone to fix --- very low priority and probably old news. Under "Forums-Discussion & Chat" the last item on the drop-down menu is "Restuarnts" --- pretty sure it should be "Restaurants", but double check for correct spelling before you fix it. Maybe fix the linked page title too? When I get the new site figured out, I'll probably update my bookmarks (I use a desktop) --- easier than filtering each time. Good luck satisfying all the members --- change isn't always popular.
@oldbrokenwind - glad you got your avatar updated! Regarding site navigation, I have a lot of "How Do I's" I need to create. For example, you mentioned bookmarking. You can actually "follow" a prefix (i.e. a already filtered thing).. that way all the alerts etc will still work. Ultimately you can get very granular on what and how you want to see information. I'm still figuring it all out and the more I learn the more I realize it has more functionality than I originally thought in many areas. Let me know if you have any questions.. I'll see if I can create some of those how to things tomorrow. Regarding Restaurants - thanks. I'll make that change.
Wish we had a new thread / post button on the top right like we had before. It a pain to keep going to Fourms > new post.
Cool - good suggestion. Let me look into that. Also when you hit a thread where there are post you have not read you can choose the option "Go to first Unread".. see image. Let me check on the top forum level...
Clicking on the MA badge in the upper left takes you “home” and scrolling down a little shows the new posts. That’s what I’ve been doing anyway. This morning it looks like there’s a longer list if recent posts available there, which is good.
Is it possible to make the blue go to first unread dot/button bigger or give it more space on the thread listing page? It was a lot easier to hit before and eliminates the second tap after entering the thread.
I will have to look at this... not 100% sure what you are talking about. Any chance you can send a screen shot?
Ah.. nevermind.. I see. So when you go to Forum>New Post.. the little blue dot there (which would be impossible on a mobile device). Since its so small, you have to click on the thread then the "Go to First Unread" I'll add it to the list and see what options we have.
