If you are using the rich editor - click the box that looks like a picture - then embed a link to the picture (assuming it is already online on flickr, facebook, etc.) Then make sure all the misc. options are checked except disable smiles. If you are uploading it from your machine - I think it automatically thumbnails the photo.
