Some friends of ours were driving down this morning and hit a pretty severe pot hole on 81South at around mile marker 115. It got them a tow to Flow MINI, I think the rim was damaged. If you're coming through that way, please be on the look out around mile marker 115. I think it was the left lane, not 100% sure. Ali
I am thinking VA since that is the longest part of 81S. Also the mile markers reset when you go from state to state and I don't think NC has that much of 81. Could be wrong.
They didn't say, I passed on all I had. I'll see if I can find out. I know they got towed to Flow MINI, don't know if that helps. The rim was bent up pretty bad, but they are back on the road now.
Tigger, where were they in regards to towns? Harrinsonburg, Staunton, Roanoke, Salem (VA), Bristol, Johnston City (TN). Jim
I'm going off of text messages and facebook posts to try and figure it out. I found one picture of the tow truck and googled the phone number, the truck was from Wytheville, VA. That's all I've got
Thanks, that helps a lot. That would be below Roanoke and they have been blasting there the last two years. Good to know. Jim
118 is Christiansburg/Blacksburg area, when you see that shoulders are blocked off with concrete barriers be on the lookout.
Thanks for the info, that is right around where we will stop so likely dark when we will be around that area. We will try to remember to extra cautious. Glad the friends are back on track!
Hi guys, My wife and I found that pothole for ya, so no need to re-discover it :cornut: Christiansburg sounds like the area we stopped and assessed damages. We drove as far as Polaski before TPMS went off. MINI Roadside picked up the tab for a tow to Flow MINI in Winston-Salem. We called ahead to make sure they had a wheel and tire (check, and check) and to make sure they'd still be open when we got there (check). They were waiting on us when we arrived, and had us back on the road in short order. No alignment issues, no mushroomed strut towers, no other problems except for a lighter wallet :arf: -Jim
