Out of icu in a somewhat normal room but still being watched. Again thanks for all the support, prayers, thoughts and well wishes.
Just catching up. Very sorry to hear of the accident. Hope each day is better than before. We'll keep praying.
He woke up long enough for us to wash his face, head and hands. He ate a cheeseburger, chocolate chip cookies and banana pudding. Drank some Pepsi and burped a few times. He did talk a little. Then back to sleep. No cussing but wasn't completely compliant but better than yesterday.
He apparently went over the white line in a curve, over corrected and put the car in a slid for about 100 yards before hitting two pine trees. Haven't seen the car yet.
Glad he is coming around. Head injuries suck, I've had more than a few of them, but I turned out fine...
Holy Crap, it's a blessing that he is still us becuase I have seen and lost my share of friends to trees.
Sending good juju your way, man. Lost my younger brother a few years ago in an accident like that. Overcorrected, spun the car, and slid through a post and rail fence before hitting a tree backwards, with the car coming to a rest on it's side. Probably would've made it if it hadn't been for the fence.
Just saw this thread. Our thoughts are with you and your son Rick, pulling for his recovery. It's especially hard when it's your child.
Sorry for your loss. Prayers sent. Thanks for the good juju Everyone thanks for caring. The thoughts, prayers and good juju are really appreciated.
Glad to hear he's improving. I worry about my boys all the time. Now I know what I put my parents through.
So this morning he wasn't cooperating with staff, just sleeping a lot. We got him to sit up and listen to and talk to the nurse. He ate more chocolate chip cookies and drank some soda. He ate toast, bacon and eggs this morning. Occupational therapy and physical therapy people came in and got him up and walking. He did good and responded well to them. They decide to run an MRI cause he is sleeping so much and not responding much to staff.
